An archive from 1958: Akhal-Tekes racing in Moscow wearing traditional dress! This was part of the First All-Union Competition and of the 457 horses from 22 breeds in attendance, 46 of them were Akhal-Tekes.

"AKHALTEKINS AT THE CMI
At the Central Moscow Racecourse horses of the English racing breed are historically tested. But from time to time horses of other breeds also appear on the racetrack, some episodic, and some more or less regularly. Between 1945 and 1946 horses of the Akhaltekin, Iomud, Don, Kabardine, Karabair breeds were tested during the special program. In 1947. - horses of the Budenovo breed. In 1948. - Arabian, Tersk and Russian horse horses were jumping. And in May 1958, teams from 15 union republics in the number of 479 people with 457 horses, 22 breeds and breed groups came to Moscow to the First All-Union Competition of equestrian horsemen, kolkhozs and horse factories !!! The TSSR team was represented by 35 riders and 46 horses of the Akhaltekin breed!
