Our first Akhal-Teke of the Month nomination period for August 2024 has ended!
Our nominees for the “Akhal-Teke of the Month” award are as follows, with information and photos shared by nominators.
Sagit MID
“Originally bred in Kazakhstan, Sagit MID is bigger-boned stallion that brings nice (and much needed) bloodline diversity to North America. Late last year, Sagit started a new lease on life and found a new home, where he is showing lovely promise as both a competition horse and breeding stallion. This last June, Sagit represented the Akhal-Teke breed and competed at the North American SANA ATAA Rare Steeds Show. He completed his first ever dressage test and won Reserve Champion Akhal-Teke In Hand. Sagit is a great example and testament to the Akhal-Tekes enduring spirit and adaptability.”
Dofin
“Dofin is a stallion, born in 2015. He is licensed as ELITE breeding stallion and has a number of wonderful offspring. Dofin was awarded by unanimous decision to be the best Sport prospect Akhalteke horse at European Akhal-Teke Championship 2024. At the European Championship, he dominated free jumping with 160cm height, won 4th place in dressage. He is the Slovenian champion in Cross Country and second in Eventing. He has a number of showjumping placements at heights 100, 110 and 115. In total, in last 12 months: 17.12.2023 - Perfect score in showjumping, height 100cm 18.2.2024 - 1st place at height 110cm 26.2.2024 - 2nd place in Indoor Eventing 9.3.2024 - 1st place at 110cm 10.3.2024 - 3rd place at height 115cm 2.6.2024 - 2nd place in Eventing 19.6.2024 - 1st place in Cross Country 14.7.2024 - European sport prospect title, winner in free jumping 160cm, 4th in Dressage”
