How Good Biomechanical Work Can Change the Shape of a Horse

A beautiful example of how good biomechanical work can change the shape of a horse, and even cooler to see it done with an Akhal-Teke. This Akhal-Teke, Degni Shael, was first conditioned as a Russian racehorse and with targeted work his body has transformed.

There is an article about this horse and his classical dressage training with Anja Beran here:

While cleaning up the other day I found the Teke Mania which that article is from…
Noelle Schon and I did an article about dressage in hand with Teke’s in it, (Noelle does wonderful dressage work with her Tekes too!) which felt a little like being in the kiddy pool because Anja Beran’s interview was literally on the previous page hahaha

How funny! Well, this kind of correct gymnastics work is all connected. In-hand and under saddle, it all translates to the other. I am excited to flip through the few Teke Mania issues I returned from Europe with and discover the story treasures in them. Thank you so much for helping to record and share these important interviews. They are snippets of Teke-culture history in the making.
