Introduction

A short intorduction: In early February 2024 I got my first Teke, Melesar. He’s a 17 years old gelding (who has had two foals earlier though). It’s been a bumpy start, with falling off more than I’ve done since my pony years, lol, throwing shoes and being hard to catsh in the field. But all the time also full of love and with huge steps forward. He’s the sweetest boy in the stables, and the bumps are mostly misunderstandings or insecurity of everything new. Since May we’ve been working with the Sience of Motion method from Jean-Luc Cornille. The idea is balance before speed, and suits us really well. He has put on new muscles in the right places, and the other day he came cantering in the field when I was coming to get him. I love him so very much! I’m looking forward to find out everything that he wants to share under that blright golden fur. Picture from September morning ride in the forrest of Sweden, our home.

Hello again,
He’s my first and only AT, but I’ve seen them for a long time, so it’s a “finally!”. My boy was imported in utero from Russia to Estonia, where he was born. As a young horse, he came to Sweden, and have lived here ever since, but in different places (the island of Gotland, and the Stockholm area). I’m a member of the Swedish Akhal-Teke society.

So excited to have you here, Anna! I somehow missed your post earlier but am so glad to read it now. Your equine partner, Melesar, sounds like a wonderful companion and your journey together sounds really meaningful and beautiful. :two_hearts: Thank you for sharing the note about Jean-Luc Cornille! I will have to explore his teachings. Balance is so important to building the body and doing things right slow is better than doing them incorrectly in a hurry! Lovely photo. Is it a winter wonderland there now? :snowflake: Any pics of Melesar’s babies?
